Meeting called to order at 9:00 am
Introductions were made.
VICE
PRINCIPAL’S REPORT: Ronda Haun
It has been recently confirmed that we have a student at BHS
with a case of TB. The Washington County Health Dept is working
with the staff. Two letters were sent home, one stating your
child is most likely not at risk and the other stating your
child had a class with the student and will be tested on 11/14
or 11/15. It is very rare for TB to pass in a school-like
environment. It is much more common to pass in a home setting
where there is repeated exposure.
Donations:
BHS received a check for Intel Matching Grants for $1,000.00.
We received a check for $1,217.17 from the Target Rewards
program.
Nike has also made a donation of some notebooks.
Target is bringing school supplies.
Both Washington Mutual and Office Depot also have donation
programs.
Staffing:
Renee Reyes is returning to BHS after being gone for several
years to work in security.
We have hired Martha Setzer as a permanent counselor.
Portables:
Terra Nova is now housed in the first portable.
The next new portable is scheduled to arrive the week of 11/7.
We
had several fire alarms on 11/3 due to a faulty sensor in
the auditorium. It is being repaired.
ACTIVITIES:
David Neislanik
We now have a location for the Mardi Gras dance. It will be
held at the Tiffany Center. (February)
They
are looking at improving the dances and homecoming and including
alumnae.
Winter
Formal will include a canned food drive for the Oregon Food
Bank. The canned food drive in advisory started 11/3.
There
is a huge level of involvement at this school with all groups
of students. Research shows the more involved kids are the
higher their grades are.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER: Martha

We have 32 people volunteering in the CCC.

juniors. These volunteers (17) will work with their students

they choose to do after they graduate from Beaverton. They
will work with the same group of students until the end of
their senior year when they graduate.

There are a few teachers who use volunteers, but unfortunately,
not many. We have no current requests.
