BHS
Volunteer Meeting Minutes
Dec. 3, 2004
Attending:
20 people in attendance
• Mr. Nieslanik met with us to answer questions that
were brought up at the last meeting. There were concerns about
student behavior at different events. He mentioned that in
the past there really haven't been any boundaries set for
the students. At the beginning of the school year there was
a metro league student council meeting where they created
dance guidelines. The current administration expects students
to follow these guidelines.
• Elections will be coming up in January. Anyone interested
needs to fill out an application and get two teacher recommendations.
Applications can be picked up outside of Mr. Nieslanik’s
office. There is currently talk about changing some of the
rules for student council. It is important that students on
council lead by example. Currently if a student has been suspended
from school for 10 or more days, they will have to withdraw.
There is a discussion about reducing the amount of days. Grade
requirements will be the same for all activities.

Committee Reports
-
Counseling - There will be a need for help when first
semester grades come out and when PSAT scores come in.
-
CCC
- The remodeling project is still not done. At this time,
we need to reduce the number of volunteers helping. The

the first part of January and we can resume our schedule.
-
Mentoring
Project - This is canceled this year, hopefully it will
be up and starting next year.
-
Staff Appreciation - Staff Appreciation will be on December
14.
-
Volunteers
at Large - There will be a huge lost and found day on
December 20 in the cafeteria during the lunches and after
school. If you are interested in helping out, contact
Julie Liggins.
